from the founder

welcome to the new metaphor

As I relax on a Sunday morning with the Times and a cup of chai at our home in Cincinnati's oldest neighborhood Columbia Tusculum – our beautifully restored 1855 Landgon House – I hear news of Michael Phelps' record-setting achievements in Beijing over National Public Radio. His efforts have been heroic mixed with humanness at the same time. What a wonderful and inspiring story of determination.

With the recent Summer Olympics as the backdrop, I have a few gold medals to hand out at metaphor. First, to the software development team at editspot llc headed up by Troy Davis, our chief technology officer, and David Stump, director of interface integration, for the development and release of LiberateDomains.com and its dashboard widget version. In the software development arena, recognition by Apple is equivalent to an Olympic gold medal. Troy and David's teamwork accomplished just that: a top staff pick by Apple.com for the LiberateDomains dashboard widget. In addition, the release of LiberateDomains generated coverage by Reuters.com, CNBC.com, Forbes.com, Yahoo! Finance.com and countless Internet tech channels and blogs. We heard applause from as far away and India and China.

Not to rest on their laurels, Troy and David are busy working on the release of spotlets.com, a new editspot product that will provide free and elegant Web site development tools and hosting in the coming weeks, including the ability to edit a Web site direct from an iPhone. Watch for news about that.

In similar fashion, metaphor CEO Suzannne Beane and SVP Buz Buse took our PR unit to the top of the medal stand by successfully engaging cable network VH1 to bring its popular Top 20 Video Countdown to Cincinnati in light of the success of the Cincinnati-centric video by 3 Doors Down, "It's Not My Time." Suzanne, Buz and the entire metaphor team successfully demonstrated to VH1 that it is indeed Cincinnati's time to earn their coveted national spotlight, which is seen in 90 million homes.

It's been an incredibly busy and satisfying summer at metaphor, but, like Michael Phelps preparing steadfastly for the Olympics, we're not done yet perfecting our form, exercising our creative muscle and delivering world-class results for our diverse portfolio of clients, including Miami University, Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, the City of Cincinnati and many, many others.

Watch for many more splashes from metaphor. There's gold waiting for you by tapping our talented team.
